After getting all hero points and unlocking all core things you have 214 left over, and you need at least 250 to reach the full track. Sure, only "170" for the actual elite spec, but the rest of the tiers are equipment and skin unlocks, however.. based on the datamined tracks so far, it would be silly to say "you can't have everything"
To unlock all base skills, base specializations (which, together, cost exactly the amount of Hero Points you get by leveling to 80) and the elite specialization (if it stays at the current cost, which I guess it won't) you would need more Hero Points than are currently available in the game.
Hero Points. During the leveling process (from 1 to 80) and through World Completion, there are a total of 398 Hero Points available. To gain access to your elite specialization, you first need to unlock all core skills and traits by accessing your training tab: you press H and select Training.
using the 80 booster only unlocks all core skills and traits, you still have to go trough a lot of hero challenges to get enough hero points in order to fully unlock your PoF elite spec. TLDR: For the most easy, quick and cheap way to explore PoF zones and blaze trough story for mounts and hero challenges for unlocking elite specs i suggest
This means every core Tyria hero point will offer a point that can be used to get your elite spec. Of course, doing all of them is still not enough to fully unlock, and it would be absurdly tedious to get all of them on more than one character unless you really enjoy mapping.Verdant Brink has 5-6 really easy points, Auric Basin has a few as well.
The other way to get hero points is from the open world hero points in the expansion maps that are worth 10 points each; a far more efficient way to get points. So really you don't have much of a choice when it comes to avoiding exploring the open world while maxing your specs. My only suggestion might be to follow a hero point train. When you
there's way more than 300 points in hero challenges all over the world. Each expansion has enough hero challenges to fully unlock the elite spec tied to that expansion (and a few challenges more, so you don't even need to do all of them), and all the ones in core tyria can be considered a spare.
Because an Assassin Elite spec for Thief would be an awful idea for Guild Wars 2. That's why I don't like it. The only reason to do it would be because a subset of players (inexplicably) seem to want it, even though Deadeye is already literally an Assassin. Take the good parts from GW1 and integrate them into GW2 where they fit.
To me, we already have way point unlocks, and level 80 boosts. Which I also consider *convenience*. If that stuff 'makes GW2 pay to win', then it already is by that definition. How is the Black Lion Hero Point Unlock Scroll any different and/or worse?
